David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful film in cinema history. The epic film was filmed in Jordan Djebel Tubeiq and Wadi Rum, Spain Andalusia and Morocco with the opening sequence filmed in the U.K. Now, for the first time ever we're happy to propose a tour on the exact locations in Spain where were filmed some of the most famous scenes of the movie, including the legendary attack on Aqaba! The desert scene at the start of Lawrence were filmed in Jordan Djebel Tubeiq, a so remote location that even now it's impossible to access. But others scenes like the famous ones of the attacks against the Turkish trains were filmed in Spain and are include in this tour!

Which Lawrence of Arabia locations will we visit during the tour?

You will find below the full tour itinerary showing each Lawrence of Arabia location that the tour will include. And there is a special addition at the end of the tour which include the visit of the locations where David Lean had planned to film his last movie Nostromo, from Joseph Conrad famous novel.

Who will be our guide on the Lawrence of Arabia locations?

Alain Littaye will be our guide. Alain was the director of the great "In Love with the Desert" documentary filmed in 2000 on the exact locations of Lawrence of Arabia, and he's probably one of the last alive man on Earth to know where each scene was filmed. He speaks fluent english and french and will be able to do his presentation of each site in both languages.

What is NOT included in the price of the tour?

The flight from your home town to Seville as well as your return flight from Almeria is NOT included as each of you will come from a different location and it was of course impossible to calculate a plane flight at the same price for everyone. To find a return flight from your town to Spain at a reasonable price we strongly recommend you to do a search on the Skyscanner.com website HERE. Please note that to fly to Seville or to return from Almeria you'll most probably need a stop either in Madrid or Barcelona.
If you live in England or another country in Europe a plane ticket to Seville and return from Almeria starts from around 130€ with low cost airlines. Note that the tour is starting in Seville, Andalusia, Spain, and that you need to be in Seville October 22. Check-in at the Seville hotel will be on Oct 22. For your return, the tour will end on October 27 so you'll need a return ticket from Almeria Airport for that date.

Lunch, dinner and drinks. Why are not they include? Because, and although we will stop of course for lunch and dinner, we thought that you may want to experience by yourself the charm of the spanish streets in Seville or Carboneras with their bodegas or tapas restaurants. It will also give you the ability to have lunch or dinner by yourself or with the one you love instead to be blocked with a group. After a day spent all together we thought that the possibility to be independent could be enjoyable, and also you won't have to pay for something you won't use if you want to have meals by yourself.

For any questions about the tour feel free to contact us at: parklaneshop@gmail.com

How many people can join the tour?

The tour is limited to 30 individuals or couples. The reason is that we have a limit of 30 hotel rooms available. You're of course very welcome to Which mean either 30 guests or 30 couple as each room can accommodate two persons, of course. In other words not more than 60 people can participate to the tour.

And now, about the Itinerary of the Tour:

This Lawrence of Arabia tour will bring you back in time 54 years after the shooting of the movie on the exact locations where this legendary movie was filmed, in Spain. Others scenes were filmed in Jordan and Moroco as well as in the U.K, but a lot of memorable scenes were filmed in Spain.

Important note: Please note that the order of visits of the locations described below might be changed or some cancelled for Spanish administrative or weather reasons for reasons beyond of our control.

Your tour will start in Seville, Andalusia at the gorgeous Plaza de Espagna. In the movie, the Plaza de Espagna building was the headquarters of the british army in Cairo. We see at the start of the movie and after Lawrence came back after his "army" took Aqaba.

It's inside this building of Plaza de Espagna that were filmed many sequences of the British Headquarter in Cairo. Important note: The building is now ruled by the Spanish army and we can't promise we will have the authorization to get in, but we'll try our best so you can have a look inside!

Others scenes were filmed near the Plaza de Espagna and we will visit them the same day, starting by the location where was filmed the entrance of General Allenby in the British headquarter in Damascus.

We will move then to another location where was filmed the legendary scene of the Arab Council in Damascus, near the Plaza de Espagna, in the theater Lope de Vega.

When Lawrence comes back from Aqaba after travelling through the Sinai desert we have this famous scene in a patio, supposedly at the British Headquarter in Cairo. The scene was not filmed Plaza de Espagna but in another location where we will go after the theater Lope de Vega.

It's at the same place that was also filmed the officers bar sequence that we see in the movie at the start and when Lawrence comes back from Aqaba with the young Arab boy.

Always in Seville the very first sequence with Lawrence drawing maps, at the start of the movie was filmed also not far from the theater Lope de Vega, and we'll have a look at this not well known location.

In the afternoon we will visit another great location - and on of Seville historical place - the "Casa de Pilate", built in the 15th Century, and where were filmed the scenes of the British Headquarter in Jerusalem.  Here is the entrance of the "Casa de Pilate"...

...the patio inside that Lawrence walk through in the movie, all decorated with giant Roman statues.

Then, we'll go up to the first floor where was filmed famous scenes between Lawrence and General Allenby, and you'll be stunned to see how 53 years later almost nothing has changed!

This will be our last location in Seville and after a dinner and the night at our hotel we will move the next morning to Cabo de Gata near Almeria. But before leaving Seville we will visit in the morning the stunning Cathedral of Seville...

...as well as the sumptuous and legendary Alcazar Palace and its gardens, two places which were not used foe the filming of Lawrence but which are not-to-be-missed when one is in Seville.

On our way we will stop two hours in Granada to visit the legendary Moorish citadel The Alhambra and its magnificent gardens. No scenes of Lawrence were filmed there but it would be a crime to drive through Granada and don't stop at the Alhambra!

In the Afternoon after installation in our hotel El Dorado we will have dinner and the next day serious things will start with the visit of the location where was filmed one of the most famous scene in cinema history: the Attack on Aqaba!

Then we will move deeper in the desert of Almeria and see the location where was filmed the "oasis" famous sequence in which Lawrence discover that the two young bedouins boys followed him. The oasis didn't existed and was built specially for this sequence.

Then, we will move even deeper in the rocky desert to the location where was filmed the scene of the interview of Lawrence by Jackson Bentley,  the American journalist.

On our way back we will visit the location which was used for the exterior scene of the Turkish prison, the famous scene in which played the great actor Jose Ferrer.

We'll have another major location to visit the next day and it is where was filmed the legendary scene of the attack of the Turkish trains, in the dunes. The scene was filmed at Cabo de Gata national reserve park, in a location not easy to find.

Your trip won't be over yet as i have a fantastic special "bonus" for you and i'll invite you to discover the locations, also in Cabo de Gata - one of the most remote place in Spain, where David Lean had planned to film his last movie adapted from Joseph Conrad's novel "Nostromo". David Lean died unfortunately before filming Nostromo but thanks to Eddie Fowlie, David Lean closest friend and collaborator you'll discover these locations and learn how Eddie and Lean had planned to transform them in "South America" locations. Years before Eddie Fowlie passed away i've filmed him explaining how he found for David Lean these locations and what decor for what scene would have been built here, and each of you will come back home with a free copy of this never-released-before documentary! Below, some screen captures from the documentary with Eddie Fowlie in front of the Nostromo locations.
